The Ultima comes with a screen that provides status updates on your print jobs and printing supplies. You can also run diagnostics, view error messages, and issue commands to your printer through the menu.

It makes sure that you’re in full control of your printer’s operation and that you know when to refill printing consumables to minimize interruptions and confusion.

Superior retransfer printing technology

The MagiCard Ultima prints in beautiful and crisp 300 dpi. Instead of printing directly on the card surface, the Ultima prints on the underside of the transparent film, which is then adhered to the card.

The retransfer printing technology is also superior to direct to card printers for a number of reasons:

• The film acts as an extra layer between the print and outside world, preventing tampering and wear and tear.
• The printhead doesn’t directly touch the card surface, which means it will last longer.
• Printing on a film means over-the-edge printing is possible, without leaving an unprinted border.

Out-of-the-box plug-and-play with Windows, Mac OS, and Linux support means your Ultima will slot effortlessly into your office. A backup CD driver is provided to make sure no obstacles stand in the way of setting up your ID card printer. The Ultima comes with standard USB and Ethernet interfaces so that it’s capable of slotting right into any network infrastructure.

Built-in HoloTek Technology for advanced security

This built-in security feature allows watermarks to be printed across your entire card surfaces. With ten standard as well as the ability to create custom watermarks, you can use it for many different situations in your organization. Upgrade your security even further by adding fluorescence under UV light as an extra anti-fraud measure.

MagiCard provides an online delivery portal to design and publish your custom watermarks for easy printing. HoloTek printing requires secure dye film (YMCKS).

So that you don’t spend more time refilling consumables or loading and unloading cards, the Ultima comes with a 200 card input hopper and output stacker as well as high-capacity consumables with up to 1,000 prints. When printing single-sided, the Ultima can print up to 180 monochrome or 100 full-color images.

Need specific security encoding? The MagiCard Ultima supports multiple top standards

For magnetic stripe cards, you can specify LoCo or HiCo encoding according to the ISO 7811 JIS2 standards. Contact encoding is also supported according to the ISO 7816 and EMV standards. For a contactless option, you can use MIFARE, DESFire, HiD, iClass, Procx, or Legic encoding. There are also several different smartcard encoding options available for more specific solutions.

A 3-year limited manufacturers warranty

If your printer’s operation is mission-critical to your business, Magicard has your back. The Ultima is covered by a 3-year or 250,000 panels limited manufacturers warranty. The MagicCoverPlus warranty covers electrical malfunctions, as well as bad workmanship. If your issues can’t be solved immediately, you’ll be loaned a printer so business can continue as usual.

HoloKote® card security

HoloKote® built-in security watermark is printed across the entire card surface, this feature also exploits the wavelengths of the film to fluoresce under UV lighting conditions. Available with 10 watermarks as standard, any of these watermarks can be replaced with your own customised design or company logo through an easy-to-use, but securely encrypted, online delivery method. HoloKote® printing requires the use of secure dye film (YMCKS).
